Ma Joad throughout the book has always a positive attitude towards the situations the family faces. Ma always tries to find the positive view of every negative action in order to keep the family at a psychological stability. One example is when rose of Sharon saw Granma ding Ma calms her down and says positive things in order to keep Rose of Sharon all right, she says to her that everyone must sometime in theor life face death; she says to Rose of Sharon that she must appreciate that she is giving birth to a child.
