Since ma and the others reached the government camp they have gotten hope from it and have realised that there are people who will help them and support them. Hot showers, nice place, food and shelter, all you need to live. seems like the paradise Ma thought the kids wouldve never had, even she always looked like she thought there was gona be a paradice she actually in some part, just assumed them.

Monologue 5

I remember..Yep I do remember when we got to the government camp..it was if like jesus had created a perfect place himself..God!..it was such a paradise, the showers , the food..you could see the happiness in the kids eyes, we were free again! No more cops or empty stomachs or any more sad faces…but later with the riot them cops had an excuse to punish us again and treat us like cows, it was not over.

I now realize what all this has taken us to..now we ar all desperate for all of that we didn’t find and I do hope God helps us find..safety, food and a place to stay where them cops wont hit us and where the children can grow fine, not with a empty belly every day.. but casey, oh casey a good man, once a priest now a man who no one would’ve thought was some time in his life a religious man.. even though he scarified himself for the good of the fambly , by letting those cops take him away

Character Analysis: Ma Joad and her role as a mother

Ma Joad, besides being a leader, she has an important mother role with her children. She helps them in times of crisis, always chooses what is best for them and always tries to find a positive thing in a negative situation suffered by herself or her children. One example is: when Rose of Sharon is sad because Connie left her Ma Joad encourages her to dance so that she can " get over" Connie, have a mother daughter relationship and have fun. This makes both Ma and Rose of Sharon have positive thoughts and forget about the problems they have.

Emotional Quotation, Ma joad

“ Ma put down her head and she fought with a desire cry.”… “Ma appraised them. “They look nice” she said. “He`p yaself to pone an`gravy.

This quotations shows how Ma reacts to the hole situation she is going through. The suffering of her family the children starving, she is afraid that the same thing will happened to the Joads and with desperation and not knowing a clear future for the family, she reacts with sadness.

Monologue Ma Joad

Here children o`mine come and get a sip of this. You aint hungry when you got here wright? Cause wyou ain`t got no cooking stove? poor littl` creatures come`n get a sip of this, make you feel goo`. My fambly is going to rough times youll know but in desprete time som`dy else is al`ays in more need.

Psychological Quotation, Ma Joad

Psychological

“Ma talked quietly to a little girl who stood inside the lusting circle. She was older than the rest. She stood on one foot, caressing the back of her leg with a bare instep. Her arms were clasped behind her. She watched ma with steady small gray eyes…”Ma looked up. “Didn`nono of these here have no breakfast?””... “ Ma smiled. “Then you isn’t hungry. They ain`t enough here to go around””.

This quote explains how Ma Joad thinks. Even if her family does not have enough food to give she cannot resist giving food to the starving children, like how John Steinbeck describes the girl not taking her view of the food ma was cooking. This quotation proves that Ma is a kind person and that her love is not only devoted to the family but to everyone else around who suffers like her family does.

Quotes of Grapes of wrath

Ma brushed her hair back with her hand. Her jaw tightened. We got to git she said we got a find a place to stay . We got to work an`settle down. No use a lettin` the little fellas go hungry. that wasn’t never a funeral Granma’s way. she always et a good meal at the funeral." pg. 328

This quotation is an example of how the character interacts with her environment. She assumes leadership, makes decisions, dose not hesitate but at the same time those decisions are the best decisions for the family. Also this quote illustrates how Ma Joad is a very loving person and cares a lot for Granma even when she is dead.

"Ma said helplessly,” I dunno what to do. I got to feed the fambly. what`m I gonna do with these here?" pg 351

This quotation also illustrates the leadership of Ma in the family. Some Children got to her asking for food, first she thought in the future and how difficult will be to get food. Even so because of her kind heart she decides to give the children food even if Tom was hungry.

Monologue

Rose of Sharon are you gonna leave town tomorrow? I now for sure you cant because we are supposed to be a family together and support each other, when we get to California our life will be better than own dam rich neighbors. There is no need to work at a store we are farmers. We as a family will stay together and we will become a horse in the field, our family will be unstoppable.

At dawn we got to get going now, we depend on getting to the new land the fastest as possible, The journey has been tough Tom, grandpa died and Granma is probably going to soon die to. Tom don’t be scared of what the people in town say about getting food in California. As a family we will make it work.

We cant leave without you, we cannot leave your family behind! You are part a part of our family, I insist... I know your daughter is sick, but please stay with us, we need to be together in order to survive... I understand, " hop on Joads, we gonna get going".

Philosophical views

Ma Joad has a way of looking at everything. She cares a lot of her family and sees it as the center of al her life. She isnt going to let anything harm the family or separate it.

Grapes of wrath pg. 230 " Ma`s face softened, but her eyes were fierce "You donde this`thout thinkin`much," Ma said. "What we got lef in the worl`? Nothin`but us. Nothin`but the folks."

Ma Joad also has a philosophy of being kind to people that are kind to her. She has the philosophy of " love your neighboor as yourself", she has compassion for the suffering.

Intellectual Traits

Ma Joad has a high intellectual coefficient for a woman who probably does not have a decent education. Ma Joad is a very loving person and cares for everyone around her, even cares for the Wilsons.

1. "She seemed to have the answer to everything but deep down inside she was just as scared as they were. People even looked at Ma and saw how wise and experienced she was. The first description of her showed this. It said on page 100, "Her hazel eyes seemed to have experienced all possible tragedy and to have mounted pain and suffering like steps into a high calm and super human understanding."

Ma joad

Ma joad is a very important figure in the Joad family. She imposes leadership in her family, guides their family to their best decicions and holds them together.

"Ma Joad exhibits exelent self-control during the sufferings and frustrations of the Joad's journey. Ma knows that she is the backbone of the family, and that they will survive only if she remains calm. Ma keeps her self-control when Ruthie tells some children about Tom's secret. The family becomes nervous and enraged over the situation, but Ma restores order by handling the situation in a calm and collected manner. If Ma were to ever show fear, the family would most likely collapse."
